South Padre Island fishing offers experiences for every skill level. Never held a fishing pole before? No problem! You too can experience the thrill of reeling in “the Big One,” and don’t worry if you don’t catch anything, you can always tell the story about “the one that got
away!”
South Padre Island offers many options for families to experience the fun of fishing during their stay, and you don’t even need to bring any equipment! Plenty of fishing captains provide 3-4 hour bay fishing charters that are perfect for families looking to get in some quality bonding time. There are similar charters available in Port Isabel just across the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway as well.
Island Insider Tip: For the more experienced (or more adventurous!), full-day excursions are available for deep-sea fishing.
If someone in the crew tends to get a little “seasick,” there are some alternatives available. Cast off from
the Jetties at Isla Blanca Park, the
Pirate’s Landing Pier in Port Isabel, or right from the beach! Equipment and bait are available at several locations throughout the Island, and most offer fishing licenses as well.

cook your catch? Several restaurants throughout the Island will prepare your fresh catch in a variety of ways. Whether you want it fried, grilled, or blackened, it doesn't get any better than your own fresh catch!
