South Padre Island Presents FAM Fest
South Padre Island is excited to bring a premier film, art and music festival to Texas’ best beach! You are invited to participate in this year’s event, where film, music, food and family fun complement fine original art. This three-day event will feature outstanding artists, art demonstrations, children’s art activities, live music, film, and local food and beverages.
FAM Fest will become the location for the CineSol Film Festival featuring filmmaking workshops and industry panels. Festival attendees can expect to view films and documentaries from around the world with a unique perspective from award-winning filmmakers. (All CineSol films will be shown at the SPI Convention Centre.)
Special Guest Director Helen Catherine Hardwicke
Helen Catherine Hardwicke is an American film director, production designer, and screenwriter. Her directorial work includes Thirteen (2003), which she co-wrote with Nikki Reed, the film’s co-star, Lords of Dogtown (2005), The Nativity Story (2006), Twilight (2008),
The FAM Fest Artist Village (Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark) will showcase state and national painters, sculptors jewelry makers and multimedia artist booths with art for sale. Several galleries and restaurants throughout the Island and Port Isabel will be featuring artists throughout the weekend as well.
Artist/Vendor Village open to public from 6-11pm
Enjoy music from an eclectic array of local and Texas bands including local Island favorites located in the Entertainment District. There will be a special concert with the Josh Abbott Band at Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark on 11/17.

South Padre Island restaurants and food trucks will provide food and beverages for the event.
Interactive Art Zone
An artistic and hands-on playscape for all ages with various children’s activities designed to inspire creative play.
