Frontier Airlines announces new, non-stop service to/from Valley International Airport to Chicago and Denver
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS, Aug. 29, 2018 –Frontier Airlines recently announced the addition of six new, low-fare flight routes and their 100th city served to date, Harlingen. Two of the carrier’s six new flight routes include non-stop service to and from Harlingen’s Valley International Airport to Denver and Chicago. “We’re thrilled new, direct flights will ease the journey for leisure and business travelers interested in visiting the Rio Grande Valley and South Padre Island,” said South Padre Island Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Keith Arnold. “We look forward to welcoming visitors from Denver and Chicago to our pristine shorelines, tropical waters and year-round beach and bayside attractions.”
Non-stop flight service to and from Harlingen to Chicago O’Hare begins Nov. 21 and non-stop flight service to and from Harlingen to Denver begins Nov. 22. “This partnership has been a culmination of eight months of effort between the City of South Padre Island and the leadership team at Valley International Airport,” said Mayor of South Padre Island Dennis Stahl. “We’re excited to have Frontier come to the Rio Grande Valley with their low-cost fares, as this positively impacts the entire region, especially South Padre Island, and we will work to make sure planes are full.” South Padre Island’s stunning white sandy beaches, world-class water activities, nature tourism attractions, unique local restaurants and rockin’ entertainment district keep the island consistently ranked as a top beach destination by travelers from across the globe.
