South Padre Island is a tropical oasis located off the southern tip of Texas. As the only tropical island in Texas, South Padre has 34 miles of pristine shoreline. Located on the Texas Gulf Coast, 25 miles north of the Mexican border, the compact nature of the destination allows for easy access to the beach and bayside activities, dining, shopping, entertainment, and nature attractions.

Delightfully mild temperatures and warm, calm water make any time of the year a great time to visit South Padre Island. With more than 300 days of sunshine, our average winter temperature is a beautiful 65 degrees. Summers average in the mid-80s, as our tropical breeze keeps it cool. Mild temperatures in Spring and Fall make some of the best times to visit.
