In celebration of International Surfing Day, Surfrider Foundation South Texas Chapter is holding two free clinics for local and visiting children to promote the sport of surfing and raise awareness of the ecological challenges that we face as surfers and watermen and waterwomen.

The clinics will be held for children between the ages of 8 and 14 years of age. Both clinics will be held at Isla Blanca Park on the south end of South Padre Island. The first clinic will start at 8:30AM and end at 11AM. The second will start at 12:30PM and end at 3PM . Both clinics will include a presentation on the birth and life of a wave, basic water safety and surfboard riding instruction.

Surfboards, water, lunch and t-shirt will be provided to all students participating in the clinics. The only things that the students must provide are swimwear and sunscreen.

A rescue diver will be on hand for safety!
