Evening: Schlitterbahn Waterpark
End your first day on the Boogie Bahn at Schlitterbahn Beach Resort and Waterpark, or float down the lazy river. Schlitterbahn is fun for all ages, and for all thrill-seekers and relaxers alike.
Morning: Horseback riding & ziplining
Island Adventure Park on South Padre Island is home to dozens of horses that are available for beach and dune horseback riding, along with a petting zoo and a zipline course. Take the kids out for an adventurous morning!
Afternoon: Sandcastle lessons / sandcastle trail
Learn the proper way to build a sandcastle from one of our local experts! After you finish your masterpiece, search for all the permanent sandcastles on the island that make up the Sandcastle Trail. Make sure to post your photos on social media!
Evening: Bay fishing
Bay fishing is a sport that the whole family will love. Our local fishing guides have everything you need to reel in the big catch of the day – you just need to bring yourself. Following your excursion, we have a variety of restaurants ready and willing to cook up your fish if you so desire.
Morning: Segway tour
The morning is the perfect time for a Segway tour of your island. Explore it like you haven’t yet!
Afternoon: Go fly a kite!
Check out B & S Kites and pick up a kite to fly on the beach for a relaxing afternoon activity.
Evening: Stand-up paddleboarding
Join in this relatively simple watersport that the whole family can enjoy – stand on an extra-large surfboard and use a paddle to propel yourself through the water.

Morning: Thriller speedboat
Start your South Padre Island vacation with some adrenaline. Take a ride on the Thriller speedboat and glimpse your island as you fly past.
You don’t have to leave the country to participate in some ziplining – Island Adventure Park is home to South Padre Island’s own zipline. They also have horseback riding on the beach and dunes if that is more your speed.
Evening: Bungee jumping
The old saying goes, bungee jumping is better after dark. Or maybe not, but it is possible at Gravity Park in the heart of the entertainment district.
Morning and afternoon: Watersports – Stand-up paddleboard, kayak, kiteboard, windsurf, snorkel, surf, jetski, parasail, scuba-dive…
Make your second day all about watersports: choose two top favorites to spend the majority of the day with and learn some new skills! Be sure to give yourself some beach time in between.
Evening: Padre Island Brewing Co.
Enjoy some local brews along with some good food – with beer names like Kemp’s Ridley, you won’t be disappointed in the local flavors.
Morning and afternoon: Schlitterbahn Waterpark
Spend some more time in your swimsuit and continue on to Schlitterbahn Beach Resort and Waterpark, where you will find nearly two dozen world-class attractions including 13 amazing water slides.

Morning: Explore boardwalks

If you’re not ready to head back to your hotel or condo yet, plan to catch some nighttime fireworks at Clayton’s Beach Bar and Grill or Louie’s Backyard. At Clayton’s, you can couple your fireworks experience with a beach stroll. Alternatively, Louie’s Backyard has a variety of levels and bars, along with great music for all preferences.

Evening: Sunset horseback riding
Visit Island Adventure Park to take part in a romantic sunset horseback ride along the beach.

Morning: Birding and Nature Center and SPI Convention Centre Gardens and Boardwalk
Start your morning off by dropping by the Birding and Nature Center, and/or our South Padre Island Convention Centre gardens and boardwalk next door. This area is one of the best places to birdwatch in the world, and it happens to be on your island. The Convention Centre is also home to famed artist Wyland’s Whaling Wall.
Afternoon: Dolphin watch/eco-cruise
First by land, then by sea. Take a dolphin watch in the afternoon that doubles as an eco-cruise. These cruises drag a net along the bottom of the bay before pulling it in to allow for a real-time wildlife viewing. Don’t worry, they return the sea critters to the water before heading back to port.
Morning: Sandcastle trail
Your island is home to a trail of sandcastles – visit the website to download the app and see if you can spot them all. If you’re left wanting to build one of your own, our local experts offer sandcastle lessons!
Afternoon: Sea Turtle, Inc.
Come meet our legendary Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles, and even catch a feeding at 2:00 pm! The rescue and rehabilitation center’s turtles sport a variety of prosthetics, and for many, this is only their temporary home while they heal and get well enough to return to sea.
Evening: Rent a bike or golf cart
Spend your evening with the wind in your hair, either by bike, golf cart, or scoot coupe. Visit any of our local rental shops to take advantage of these fun transportation options!
See the environment in a new way while learning a new skill. Make a splash with a variety of watersports to choose from, whether it be kayaking, jetskiing, parasailing, snorkeling, or stand-up paddleboarding. For the more adventurous and athletic, we have challenging watersports such as surfing, windsurfing and kiteboarding to name a few.
Afternoon: Bay or deep sea fishing
Head back out on the water and partake in a bay fishing excursion. You may catch and release, or if you score a whopper, you can bring it to one of many local restaurants who will cook it up for you.
